E-Crane & North American Aggregate Project

Approximately one year ago, E-Crane began discussions for a project with Weeks Marine in Cranford, NJ.

Weeks is a family owned marine construction and dredging company founded in 1919. A subsidiary operation called North American Aggregates (NAA) mines sand from the Ambrose Navigation Channel with a trailing suction dredge called “ELEANOR” for ready mix and asphalt customers in the tri-state area.

NAA needed an efficient and productive method for unloading ELEANOR. After visiting several E-Cranes doing similar work, they chose to purchase two “state of the art” E-Cranes, Series 1500C/Model EC9359 PD-E for operation on a new dock.

The custom E-Cranes were built and delivered in 8 months. Sub Assembly of the cranes is underway in parallel with the new dock construction and significant improvements to the yard.
